As I'm spending my summer in one of America's hottest states, I fully intend to take advantage and spend every spare moment in the great outdoors. San Diego is home to some beautiful beaches and what better way to bask in those glorious sun rays than with clear, healthy skin?

There are two things I haven't included in the above picture, but I felt it important to point out. Number one - water. If you follow me on Twitter you probably know I have an obsession with being hydrated. In countries where we're lucky enough to have free and easily accessible water you'd be mad not to make the most of it, especially in warm weather! I'm a big believer in starting skincare from the inside and water is one of the best ways to get started. Secondly, sun cream. It seems like a bit of an obvious one, but so many people neglect or simple forget to use SPF products on their faces. Even with darker skin, which is less susceptible to UV rays, you really should be using at least factor fifteen and I intend to stock up on a good suncream once I'm over there.

Right, now on to the things I have included! Though my skin generally tends to be in good condition from time to time I am plagued with the odd break out. Tea Tree oil is one of the best things for combatting pesky spots and I find if I apply it throughout the day on the effected area it is significantly reduced by night time. I picked up this Tea Tree oil from Superdrug and I only had to part with £2 for my number one spot combatting product - bargain.

In terms of general face routine I use the Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream, The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner and then finish off with Monu Skincare Instant Radiance Brightening Boost, which has added protection for sun damaged skin and is fast becoming one of my all time favourite moisturisers. I do like to add some extra moisture under my eyes with the Benefit It's Potent Eye Cream just because I use quite a bit of make up in that area and don't want to get dried out, which will apply even more when I'm exposed to a warmer climate.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer is a new addition to my collection, but is already making it's mark. I don't really use foundation so this gives a nice finish if you're on holiday/abroad/in miracle British weather and you don't really want to be loading your face with products that will just melt off. Lastly, you can never go wrong with a good lip balm and as I mentioned in my lip product addict tag this coconut one by The Body Shop works a dream, plus the coconut smell gets you in the holiday mood!

*Some of these products were bought using gifted credit or sent to me for review purposes, but opinions expressed are still my own!

What about you guys? What products would you recommend for beach ready skin? Let me know!
