The Body Shop Haul

The Body Shop

I have a confession to make. I am a massive Body Shop fan! Their products smell delicious and make my skin feel fab - what's not to love? Anyway a couple of days ago I had a little peek in the window and was lured in by the tactfully placed sales signs and this (shown above) is what I came out with!

I initially went in with the intention of spending no more than £15, as I had one of those £10 off when you spend £25 vouchers, however I was led astray by a lovely sales assistant who gave me a skin consultation (I have normal skin - yay!) which resulted in me buying three products from the Vitamin E face range! Also because it was three for two on skin care products AND the moisturiser was half price I got a set with miniature versions of everything which I think I'll use for Christmas presents!

On my way to the till I was seduced by the Blueberry Body Butter which was on sale for just £6.50 and the Vanilla Body Mist which usually retail for £9 but was reduced to £3.50 then I quickly went to pay before I got distracted by anything else.

All in my purchase came to £23.50 which is incredible for the amount of high quality stuff and I am going to smell and feel great for months to come - bargain!

What about you guys? Whats your favourite Body Shop product? And do you have any of these? Let me know!

A World Duty Free Haul

duty free haul

So a couple of weeks ago I flew from Aberdeen to London with my good friend Chelsea for The International London Tattoo Convention and on the way back, of course, we had a delve into the magical kingdom that is duty free shopping.

This is an Aladdin's cave if there ever was one. The duty free shop at Gatwick sells everything from sweeties to high-end designer handbags ALL tax free which means the more expensive the product - the higher the discount.vAs we didn't have much time to spare between our flight we only managed to pick up a few things, but if we'd have stayed for any longer our bank balances would have taken a serious hit!

Chelsea opted for a peach shimmery Chanel blusher which I can't remember the name of, and a MAC lipstick in Rebel. I got the same lipstick as my sister destroyed my first one and I've been in mourning ever since.

I also got a MAC eyebrow pencil in Spiked

and I purchased one of my favourite perfumes - Black XS by Paco Rabanne.

All in I saved about twenty pounds from the normal shop price, bargain right?!

What did you buy in your last duty free haul? Which airport did you buy from? Let me know!

FOTD: London by Day

Hey guys! This is my first FOTD (Face Of The Day), so let me know if you like it and I will try my best to do this more regularly! This look was created for going shopping in London (I went for a weekend trip a couple of weeks ago) so I wanted something neutral and a look which didn't involve too much being on my face!

Because my lips are quite dark I blend the lipstick out with my fingers after putting it on too make it softer so it looks more natural.

I used:

Blusher - Barry M in Apricot No. 5
Eyeshadow - MUA in Heaven and Earth (used one of the light shades in the corners)
Eyebrow pencil - Mac pencil in Spiked
Eyelashes - Ardell 101's
Eyeliner  -  Collection 2000 Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in Electric Blue (it comes out really dark)
Lipstick - Bourjois Lovely Rouge Lipstick - 03 Rose Complice

Most of these can be found at Superdrug or Boots.

See my nighttime look here!

How do you guys like to keep it natural?

New Job!

Yup that's right - new job! While away on my summer break I had the odd look for a job but never really had a proper job hunt. The week before I came back to Aberdeen I had a quick look on Gumtree, as you do, and for once there was actually a position which sounded like something I would do! It was good money, I'd done something similar previously and most importantly it was really flexible which is important for me because I'm often away in Manchester to visit my boyfriend.

So I sent an e-mail with a brief covering letter and my CV and got invited for an interview a couple of days after I got back. I got a phone call the day before my interview was due asking if I would be able to make it that day and I was sooooo unprepared had no time to read up on the company or anything, but I accepted anyway and had my interview a couple of hours later.

Now I'm only human and interviews make me really really *badword* nervous, however my now supervisor Kim must have saw something in me and offered me the job on the spot!

So you ask, what does this job entail?

Basically the company I work for has a portfolio of alcohol brands including Jagermeister and Sambucca who they run promotions for. What this means for me is I spend up to 6 hours each night I work in different clubs, bars and pubs tottering around in heels trying to sell alcohol shots and handing out freebies! The nights can often be pretty hard going if it's quite busy as it's difficult to manoeuvre though everyone and people often get aggressive if we've run out of free stuff to give away not to mention the pain your feet are in! Despite this I really enjoy the freedom of being able to pick when I want to work, the money and both my bosses are really nice and easy to work with.

What about you guys? Do you have part time jobs alongside your studies? Do you find it hard to juggle both? Let me know!
