Feeling Stuck? 4 Podcasts You Need To Listen To Right Now!

4 podcasts you need to listen to right now

I first started listening to podcasts about a year ago.

Working nine hours a day on a banana farm in tropical Australia I was desperately searching for something to occupy my mind. The work was isolating, soul destroying and anxiety-inducing to say the least. You'd look for any way to fill the time and lose track of your day. It became a game. Every minute you lost count of was one minute closer to being home.

First, you start with music, but it gets to the point where you can pinpoint the duration of each song. Then there was that time when I forgot to pack my headphones and started playing little mind games to amuse/further torture myself. I was pretty close to breaking point.

Then finally, a few weeks into the job, a friend suggested passing the time with podcasts. I like to think of them as TV shows, except solely for your ears. The dialogue was engaging, I could learn about limitless different topics and I'd reach the end of my workday with just enough energy to return the following day.

From that day on my life was changed.

Dun dun dunnnn.

Okay, you got me.

Not my whole life.

But it is true that listening to podcasts has leveled up my life in ways I didn’t even know were possible.  Any time I've been feeling stuck there's been a podcast with the answer. Through podcasts, I discovered what my passions were. I clarified what dreams I wanted to spend the next years of my life pursuing. And I learned even more about the power of affirmations and self-talk.

There are so many more things, but I don’t want to just go on about my experiences. I want you to get involved so you can experience the magic too. If you have a smartphone you have a whole library of free podcasts at your fingertips just waiting to be explored.

Wondering where to start? Don’t sweat it - I’ve got you covered.

Manifestation Babe

Manifestation Babe by Katherine Zenkina is one of the most inspiring podcasts I have ever listened to. Period.

Hearing Katherine talk about how she went from broke and depressed to manifesting the life of her dreams lit a fire in me. If ever you’re feeling lost in your life this is the perfect podcast to get you out of that funk and give you some perspective.

Listening to Katherine talk is like having a conversation with one of your closest friends. She swears, she laughs - she isn’t afraid to be authentic. The world desperately needs more people like her. If you want to take your manifesting journey even further I swear by her workbook Unleash Your Inner Money Babe.

I was pretty sceptical to begin with, but the truth is that I learned so much. Even if I hadn't made any money the value of those lessons alone would have been worth it. The workbook helped me get to the bottom of some of my limiting beliefs around money and move past issues I didn't even know where there. Throughout the 21 day period of practices, I manifested over $600 - talk about return on investment!

My CEO Life

Okay so I admit I’m kind of bias because Ashly’s my friend, but that doesn’t make this podcast any less gripping I promise. Every podcast I picked for this list is here for a reason.

I relate to Ashly in a lot of ways because I know we’ve been through similar struggles with anxiety and depression. Listening to Ashly talk about the state of her life now makes me feel overwhelmed with pride. Ashly proves there is a way out of depression though I know in the worst times it certainly doesn't feel like it.

Some of the topics Ashly covers on My CEO Life are: how to beat procrastination, how to deal with things when life just becomes too much and how to get the business success you’ve always dreamed of.

If you love high energy with your breakfast in the morning this is the podcast for you.

Ted Talks Daily

I've been a huge fan of TED Talks for as long as I can remember. I even coined the wildly popular (only participated in by me, but I’m living for it and that’s all that matters) ‘TED Before Bed’ where I’d watch a TED Talk every night before I went to sleep. There’s no better feeling than drifting off to sleep having your faith in humanity restored.

So when I got on the podcast hype I was delighted to see that there was even more amazing TED content to indulge in. TED (technology, entertainment, design) talks are a series of hugely informative videos on a host of content from mental health to education to how the lighting works in Disney films to create an emotional experience. There really is no end to the content.  No matter what your interests there will be a TED Talk for you I promise.

Side note - It’s also on my vision board to give a TED Talk at some point in my life so… just putting that out there to the universe (or if there’s anyone from TED reading) *wink wink*.

Guys We’ve F*cked - The Anti-Slut Shaming Podcast

guys we've fucked podcasts you need to listen to

Last, but not least - the infamous Guys We’ve F*cked podcast. The show centres around two best friends, and comedians, Corinne and Krystna who chat candidly about everything from careers to sex. The show initially started as them interviewing their past endeavors and boyfriends, but has now evolved into so much more. They give advice to readers on a wealth of problems - relationships, sexual harassment and depression to name a few.

What I love about this show is that both Corrine and Krystna are blunt, sarcastic and completely unapologetically themselves. If you’ve ever wondered what self love looks like - this is it.

If you, like me, get hooked to the podcast Corrine and Krystna have also written a hilarious and informative book called F*cked Being Sexually Explorative and Self-Confident in a World That’s Screwed. Bit of a mouthful, however well worth the read.

The book explores our culture of shame around sexuality and important issues in the lives of every adult. From reading the book I gained a lot of insights about boundaries and self love that continue to serve me today. It's currently retailing on Amazon for £6.99, which is a total steal considering I bought it for £20!

I’m the kind of person that once I discover something amazing I just can’t wait to share it with my friends, readers - basically anyone who will listen. So, thank you for making it to the end. I hope you’re as excited as I was to listen to these incredible shows. And if you’re not then… go back to the top and read it again!

Pin it for later!
